Ferran smiled at the accusation. Knowing Nikolai had a sense of humor that wasn't always sarcastic pleased him. He realized that he would do anything to see Nikolai smile. The revelation wasn't a new one, but certain implications mixed with the thought and made Ferran uncomfortable. He focused on the feeling of the brush across his back. Sometimes it was better to concentrate on the tangible rather than get lost in his thoughts.
His immediate thought was to tell Niko he also liked having him there too. He was glad for the interruption of the question though. Ferran shifted slightly and moved his arm so Nikolai could continue painting. Now that the other man was in his physical field of vision, Ferran's lips twitched up as he fought a smile, trying not to betray the warmth spreading through his chest. Sometimes it seemed he was more a Catholic school girl than a grown man.
