"With this charlatan?" He jerked a thumb at the guy running the game, then an exaggerated sigh as his shoulders slumped and he set some cash on the table in front of him. "Very well, let's engage in some highway robbery." Dare grabbed the group of rings and began easily enough, none of them coming too close..though one skimmed across the target briefly. The second game, the pickpocket came very close to landing each ring while the man running the game seemed oh-so-smug about having taken two bits of cash from him. The third game, the last ring came close and the man shouted 'We have a winner!'. Looking a bit shocked, he handed Dare the unicorn..which was just as quickly passed into the grabby-hands of one Penelope Lane. Dare kept his eyes on the fellow, grinning like a fox as they strolled away and then turned to walk into the crowd. He held the illusion only for a few more seconds as they disappeared into the rest of the carnival.
"So. Sparkly unicorn, check. No pickles, yet..I'd rather avoid your pickle breath for as long as possible. I know where we're going!" He snagged her up off the ground with little effort, an arm around her waist as he hauled her bodily to the line for the roller coaster. The biiiig one that looped into the sky on a circle. Dare smirked a bit more and rested a chin on Penny's shoulder, both arms around her waist to hold her in place just in case she tried to run off.
Yep. Sole reason.
"How are you enjoying the east coast so far?" Time enough to make idle chit-chat while he shuffled them forward in line with each passing person. Idle enough, but he was also being sure to check and see how things were going on her end. It was always easy enough for him to follow his marching orders, it was a job and Dare did what he had to do to keep himself in the good graces of the Syndicate. They'd helped him master his powers and kept him out of trouble, so it was mutually beneficial. Penny, her motives were always a bit of a mystery to him. If only because he wouldn't violate her privacy.
