It had been ages since Kazuma had ever needed to communicate with Caleb and after the boy (yes, he was still a boy in Kazuma's eyes) went over the fence and knocked in Blair's door, Kazuma had always thought that they would meet as Centurion and Syndicate in a battle to the death. Well, technically, that was still the case but the more appropriate term now would be Cistron and Syndicate in what would hopefully be a battle to answer the bill.
Caleb was one of the files for potential captives that landed in Kazuma's lap. He didn't really feel anything in particular about it but he wouldn't lie and say that he wasn't glad to see a familiar face for once. Caleb was not a man he'd talked to a lot during their joint days in Willowbrook although he did try to coax him out of the shadows with invitations of food and drinks when he reached that age. That didn't mean of course that he didn't know him.
Whether or not that still held, Kazuma didn't know. So much of what was going to happen was going to depend on his and the boy's first five words. Surprisingly -- or not so -- he wasn't nervous. And he didn't know if that was okay.
Taking a sip of his chai tea latte, he stretched out -- as much as his long form could -- on the seat by the window. He leaned back against the chair and moved his crossed legs forward to maximize the space. He would have wanted to put on a pair of glasses to look cooler but he left that by his cup because it looked like it was about to snow. So in plain sight, he looked out for the ex-student in question.
