WHO: Hailey and Mat WHAT: Movies and Snark a Match Made in Heaven WHEN: January 4 (backdated) WHERE: Hailey's Dorm RATING: Middling, Hailey's mouth should come with it's own warning STATUS: Incomplete
It wasn't that Hailey didn't know that things were pretty fucking grim right now. And it sure as hell wasn't that she didn't care. She cared a lot but she was well aware of the fact that if she tried sticking her nose into any of it she would wind up hurt and others could wind up dead. She simply didn't have the control of her powers to actually be useful. And sitting around bitching about the fact that they couldn't leave campus wasn't doing anything so she had made the decision to just go on as if everything were normal for now.
Which probably explained why she was waiting for Mat to show up so they could watch movies. Somehow in the years since she'd arrived at Willowbrook a large part of her definition of normal involved hanging out with Mat watching movies and television both good and bad and providing it with their own brand of snarky commentary.
Being the person she was she couldn't do this without some kind of menu. She wasn't sure how the hell she became that girl but she usually blamed spending a huge chunk of her formative years being babysat by the cook when no one else knew quite what to do with her since she hated their nanny (she smelled weird and was always trying to force her to wear those damned frilly dresses). For most of Hailey's childhood affection had always been conveyed through the medium of food, a habit she continued to this day.
Which explained the cheese popcorn already in a giant bowl and the salted caramel popcorn that was nearly finished. She knew that Honey would probably let Mat in so she concentrated on the snack food.
"Maybe I should make something more substantial," she commented to herself as she started pouring the caramel over the popcorn.
