It wasn't that Bob still lived in a world full of flowers and sunrise and forgiveness, but he'd never understood the point of the war. To him, when someone called someone an enemy, that someone was automatically a Syndicate. And it just seemed counterproductive for the Syndicate to be doing this when both sides should be working together to beat the odds. That was what made it strange to him. But he only smiled slightly, never having been one to argue a trivial point.
That the government was behind this, though...was something else Bob was a little less ready to accept. He'd heard stories but they were so backwards! At a time where any one would take up arms to protect the human rights of a child from across the globe, how could these dark stories be possible at all? Under the UN's watch, under the churches' maybe, under trillions of collective voices, this wouldn't be allowed.
Bob still wouldn't believe it. It was easier to accept that that Syndicate, a smaller, more isolated unit, was behind this. He listened to James' opinion of the other faction, nothing on his face but a relaxed curiosity of sorts. He nodded to indicate that he understood. "You have experience with them?"
