[SYN] > [WB] WHO: Melody Carter + Leo Hale WHAT: Attempting to Recruit. WHEN: December 27, 2013 - 1pm WHERE: The Beach, Los Angeles, California RATING: TBA STATUS: Ongoing
It'd been a long day already, but Melody wasn't tired at all. She had received the e-mail notification to her phone that woke her up at 8:00, and replied immediately. She had gotten the information for her flight and gotten dressed, eaten, packed, and was out the door by ten o'clock. A teleporting was waiting to take her to California in one of the offices upstairs, and she met him there with a small little smile. He clearly wanted to go to California too, and he smirked at her a bit, well, jealously. Because he couldn't stay, he just had to come back to get her when she was done.
She was teleported somewhere indiscreet, where she joined the crowd almost unnoticed and made her way to a hotel. She was allowed to stay over night, at least, because recruiting could take time. She was just feeling him out of course, he wasn't coming with her right away unless he decided to jump ship right there for no reason, but she needed more than a few hours to figure it out, and of course, Melody had never taken a real vacation before. So she was staying overnight because she really wanted to and Blair had approved it. Sorta. So she got to her hotel, bought herself a bikini, set the minimal things she brought with her on the bed, and got ready to go out and find this Leo Hale.
It was no doubt this was kind of weird for her. She actually went to school with him. And she had been just a year above his brother, Liam. They were practically the same age, Melody wasn't a full year older in age than Liam was, but they were in different years at Willowbrook. She wondered if Leo would remember her. Would that make it easier, or more difficult? Melody had never developed a very good reputation at Willowbrook. Her first two years were spent in a kind of solitary confinement and the rest of them were most certainly not spent making friends. She had been friends with Kyle, who went to the Syndicate as well. But she had never been particularly good at socializing.
With an extra large coffee in hand, she got in a rental car and drove to the Hale's current place of rest, where she parked a little bit aways and waited to see the middle Hale child leave. When he did, she followed him. It wasn't until he found himself at the beach did he really stop moving, and Melody found she was getting to kill two birds with one stone - the beach and her mission.
Getting out of the car, Melody stripped down to her bikini, though she wore a sweater over it. Flip flops were on her feet, another new purchase because she had never had a reason to own any before. She went ahead and snapped a photo of herself, sending it to Luke to keep him updated and well because she thought she looked nice and wanted to share that with him, before she made her way down through the beach. She walked past Leo initially, staring out at the ocean with her arms crossed over her chest, enjoying the way the whole thing both felt and looked. She glanced behind her briefly to see if he was still there, making eye contact for just a moment.
Now, if he didn't recognize her first, she would glance back again and pretend to recognize him, oh what a surprise! Now it was time to play the recruiting game.
