Lips parted and then closed, a small pink tongue slipping out to wet a full bottom lip. "I get that from my father, I have been told. And perhaps a bit of practice from Student Council." Having been valedictorian of her class in Egypt, and having graduated early, speeches had been well practiced. "But things are different here, and I don't have to put on a show anymore. So, I'm glad you like this true version of myself. Really." It meant a lot. "I like the way you talk, too. Especially when your accent is more there. It reminds me of old movies with the Southern Gentleman. You know, just with more f-word."
"I am related to Rasui!" she pointed out with a laugh. "I am unsurprisable!" Which wasn't entirely true, but she did hate surprises for the most part. Picking up her own can with both hands, she pressed it to her lips and took a sip. "Mhm. It's one of my favorites, too."
Head tipping to the side, the movie was momentarily forgotten, her cheeks brightening once more at his compliment, and his obvious concern. "We all have secrets though, don't we? Especially when our powers were less controlled? Bad things happen even when we don't intend for them to. Even if only when trying to protect those that we love." She paused, then, a grin forming on her face. "Besides. For all you actually know I could be manipulating you in attempt to turn you to the darkside. I did bring cookies, after all. I could be a very bad person and you just not realize it!"
