A date was not what he had planned but the more he was setting up for it the more he realized it kind of was. Did he want to go on a date with Layla? There was a part of him that certainly didn't mind wanting to get to know her more, and see how that went... even if he was interested in someone else (he would never have anyway).
But there was another larger part of him that was pretty sure if he even thought about standing less than 3 inches apart from Layla, Rasui would come out of nowhere and eat him alive. And though Aleksei wasn't really afraid of that, he was... well, he was afraid of that. Dying was not on his list of things to do.
She was right on time, a minute early even, and Aleksei turned to greet Layla. She looked nice, and he smiled at her as she entered. "Hey. Extras, awesome. You look nice." He commented, before he turned to look at the popcorn on the table. "I made the popcorn. Regular buttered, like you asked. Movie is already in the player sooo..."
He kind of stood there awkwardly for a moment, before waving his hand at the couch. "Want to start it? I warn you - it's pretty awful but if you get past all the racism it's hilarious."
