Okay, he hadn't meant to make her cry. He hadn't even really meant to be thoughtful, if you really analyzed the situation. He just wanted to make her feel better, and he obviously knew the issue with never truly knowing what had happened, and he wanted to make sure she didn't have to go through it again if it could be helped and... okay, he'd given it a lot of thought, actually. So maybe he had meant to be thoughtful. But the crying was unexpected. So was the ferocious hug, though he returned it.
Alec smiled despite himself. "Good," he said, pulling her in for another kiss. "I also got you vodka," he added, against her lips. Because what said love if it wasn't exchanging alcohol? Not that this was love, he reminded himself. It was just a really good relationship. He didn't know why he'd gone so long without dating. "I'm sorry I didn't cry about the tablet. In hindsight, that was probably a prime crying opportunity I passed up."
