"The most humble guy you ever did meet." He kept chiding her, his voice sing-songy. He didn't mind being that way, now that she had actually heard him sing. Before he wouldn't have been got dead even humming in front of people. He watched as she moved through his apartment with ease. She had definitely been here longer than he had - Kaoru had been caught in one of the dorm swaps and so it was kind of funny to know that she knew his dorm better than he did. Even though all the dorms were basically the same. This place was somewhere she probably felt more comfortable than he did.
"I can see you doing the dance, definitely. You strike me as the type who likes to throw her hands in the air and dance like she just don't care, like a lot." You could bet that if a good song came on, Kaoru would probably throw his hands up and do a little dance. Dad style, because even though he did have rhythm he wasn't a particularly good dancer. "It was more the ra-ra football! Thing I wasn't pegging you for."
He was stirring the pasta idly, watching it as it went from impossibly crunchy noodles to slightly more edible ones and on. He knew it took about ten minutes before the noodles were at the right consistency to eat. Or at least, the way he liked them to taste, which was a bit on the softer side than some people liked. He'd never understand all that 'al dente' stuff. Al dente foods tastes gross. Jade questioned his compliment of her being pretty pretty and he nodded, running a head through his hair kind of... well, was that embarrassment?
And she thought he was rad, too. "Hey, thanks. Yeah. I mean. You're pretty laid back for a chick. And I guess I never noticed, but you're sort of you know. Beautiful." He had totally forgotten about stirring the pasta and the water began to boil over, which caused a loud hissing noise to erupt from behind him, some of the water burning his hand. "Oh, shit, hot hot hot..." He turned the burner down, which caused the water to stop rising, but also stop bubbling, and he shook his hand.
"Add mesmerizing to that list. Distracting, etc. Don't tell anyone about that either."
