Alec hadn't seen Leo all day. Every time he went back to his dorm, Leo wasn't there. He'd asked around some. He couldn't help but wonder why Leo hadn't told him, why he'd have to hear it from Maggie. Why he hadn't noticed something wrong the night before and what that said about what kind of friend he was. He wasn't really the introspective type, he didn't get mushy or clingy or worried very easily. But he'd been living with Leo for six years now. They'd clashed a lot in the first year, but since then they'd grown into something closer. He would even venture to say that Leo was probably the best friend he had here, or the best friend he'd ever had in his life, considering how that life had gone before. All inconsistent and shit.
He knew he was gonna be running late to Lenore's birthday thing, because he was kinda hoping to catch Leo before he went. He didn't know how long it'd be before he came back, but he couldn't blow off something like her eighteenth birthday, and he couldn't go to that and enjoy it without checking in with Leo first. Alec wasn't used to having so many important matters to deal with at the same time. He didn't like it.
He had a heads up of what the problem was, but even as he left his room and entered the hall and saw the huge ass hole Leo had punched into the wall, he still couldn't help the 'What the fuck' that he let out. They'd have to pay for that. Usually, Alec was the one quicker to anger. He and Leo had clashed before, but Alec had always been the one that gave into his anger first. Leo had usually remained cool headed about most things, especially the longer Alec had known him. Which was why Alec being the calm one and Leo being the angry one felt weird and wrong. "Dude," he said, a little calmer this time.
