Joel showed his mutant powers rather early, just at the age in which he wanted to figure out what the world was all about. In fact, he got furious because he became close to a human friend at school. His parents told Joel to not trust them and Joel became furious. The kitchen shook like a poltergeist was loose in the house. And from that point for at least the first year, the slightest irritation would cause glasses to tip over. So there definitely was no going outside for fear of being discovered. Joel hated those years. Sure, they were great father and son bonding experiences. And his mother even helped him sometimes but Joel just felt so isolated from everything. So really, the thought of growing angry to that point stirred memories of being completely isolated again.
So, he nodded and placed his hands on his hips already feeling a little irritated. Let's just get this over with, he kept on thinking. The rising irritation felt like someone who kept on turning up the heat. He grit his teeth like he tried to bare it. But he just felt so annoyed and it began slipping to anger. He let out a growl as he rubbed his forehead with the heels of his palms.
"Stop!" he said angrily as a few objects in the room began to shake, the chairs falling over with a large crash.
