Joel was quite lucky, but it wasn't something that Melody would just rub in his face. In fact, she felt triggered herself around him on occasion. She was jealous of how he had had it - knowing what would happen to him and having people there who knew and understood. Born into the side he was supposed to fight on, and liking it there. Having a sibling to - she hoped, at least sometimes - bond with, their problems similar in many ways. Triggered? He would understand that feeling for Jillian. Melody had never had that - a lot of people hadn't. And knowing how to control their triggers often meant everything to them.
"I know it sucks, and trigger training isn't exactly fun, but we all need it sometimes." Melody had spent a lot of time learning how to control her trigger. The only reason she wasn't a Class 1 mutant, in her mind, is that she spent more time controlling her abilities and trigger to not happen, than how to hone and use them. Her primary was flawless, but her other abilities could be better, her negation in particular.
She smirked when he said he wasn't doing anything. She could tell how reluctantly he felt about the whole thing, but there you have it. More likely to irritate and trigger him naturally, though he wasn't so easily triggered. "Good, good. To the training rooms we go!" She grabbed up her keycard off the counter. "Let's go."
