That is one thing Joel didn't really understand. He didn't seem to grasp his own privilege. He didn't have a war to fight like his parents. He didn't have to make a tough choice to leave Willowbrook. He didn't grow up not knowing what was happening to himself. He knew one day he would have some strange mutant ability so when it came forth, it wasn't really traumatizing. So really, saying it was a hard time to gain control of his trigger was practically an insult to those who did not have the privilege Joel had.
"I know. I know," Joel rolled his eyes again. "Not that I can leave and go very far anyway..." He did make a promise to his sister. And Blair wouldn't appreciate him going across the city either.
