Joel should have left. He rolled his eyes and didn't hold back either. Yeah, he did appreciate Melody helping him train with his trigger because Joel could have a temper on him -- the type that once he got really angry, he had a hard time bringing it in. But this is what happens when you put up such a strong front of apathy. When anger slips through, it is well overdue. And his sadness always seemed to turn to anger eventually, especially when he thought about it for too long. Joel really kind of wanted to stop thinking.
He pondered lying and running out of there. But he hadn't. He had lost it a few days earlier. However, Melody, he was certain, would figure out that it was indeed a lie.
So he shrugged and mumbled, "Not really but it has been a shitty time for me and emotions."
