Oliver scoffed quietly, but Jo's flirtatious comment did coax a smile out of him, and he nudged her gently with his elbow in retaliation for the teasing. "Who says I do?" he said, raising his eyebrows.
He really had missed her, and her humour, while she'd been away. So it was welcome even in this circumstance.
Oliver sighed though, shaking his head. "No, I don't think she does. And no-- no one was in the car." Oliver had focused more on Vi's safety, more than the possible harm she could have caused to other people. Maybe that was just because he was her father, or because they'd told him almost right away that no one had been hurt. "But people saw. Inebriated and intoxicated people, but -- nonetheless."
He took another drag. "And then the e-mail from Dobbs. Mortifying."
