It took Jo, who lived on the first floor, all of two minutes to slip out of her apartment (then back for a coat in when she realized how cold it was) and outside to meet Oli. She made herself comfortable on the stone steps, her ass automatically leeching the could out of the ground. She stood just as Oli stepped out and lit his cigarette.
"Morning, doctor." She moved up the steps and stood closer to him, the light from the lobby giving them both a weird backlight, though she could still see his face. "Does your wife know you smoke those?"
If he hadn't had the lit cigarette in his mouth, she would have wrapped her arms around him for a proper hug. As it was, she gave his arm a squeeze and leaned back against the small, stone wall that acted as stair railing. "What happened with Vi?"
