His hands were still on her skin, so she couldn't tell at all what he was feeling. But his face certainly looked distraught, and she pursed her lips, waiting for him to reveal what it was that had gotten him so upset. When she did, her face fell. She wanted to move away from him, but she didn't know how that would fix anything. His fingertips brushed against her skin and she shivered, her eyes falling to rest on his chest, unable to meet his gaze.
"You don't know if you want me?" She asked quietly. If Luke was feeling the same things, would it matter? But he was questioning it - was he feeling his own lust or someone else's? And if he was feeling someone else's, did that mean Luke didn't have his own lust for her? Did Luke not want her the same way that William had? Except William had never wanted her like Luke did - the situations were so different. There was nothing with William that ever had anything to do with love. Trust and caring, sure. William meant a great deal to Melody.
But he wasn't who she was in love with.
"Should I stop?" She asked, her hands pressed up against his chest now, her eyes still focused firmly on anything but his face, his eyes. She bit her lower lip, wondering if this was something they would ever be able to get past. She really hoped they could.
