There are plenty of times in his life where King Prochazka looks like a lazy good-for-nothing. In fact, he’s had a few break-ups that were basically credited to that. And a lot of report cards. But this was not one of those moments. This was a moment of pure hard work and concentration and all of those other things people liked to tell him he didn’t have enough of in life, because, he knew, people often liked to take things at face value.
Considering he was a man who created fake things, he didn’t much like face value, but it was hard to get people to change.
He was training, because he did that and he was serious about it, and he’d had a big breakfast. The safest place for this sort of training was the roof of an incredibly tall building, because it had a pool and a tall ceiling this time of year. The pool was good, because it is incredibly easy to fall when doing what King is doing, and water is better than concrete.
He’d made himself a construct about six feet over the surface of the water in the middle of the pool. It was just a large white box, a bit of a shine to it like it might be the prize you need to collect in a video game. But it was perfectly solid, because King was up on it, doing what would have been a rather simple handstand if he wasn’t on a box constructed of pure energy suspended over a pool. King had yet to fall, too, though he’d been up there for awhile, so he was still nice and dry. Muscles were beginning to ache, but he liked to keep himself up there for as long as he could. Soon, though, he’d have to decide if he wanted to make some more constructs to stand on, or just got for a bit of a dive. He was in his swim trunks, either option would have worked.
Well, best take it up another step before exiting. He squinted his eyes a bit, pressed his lips together, and slowly, very slowly, shifted his weight to just the one hand. Whoops almost lost balance. No, try again. All right. Allllll right. Ladies and gentlemen, one-handed handstand.
