The concept of decorating was still a strange one for Ben. And he did feel like he'd be judged. "But it would be an expression of me." Which meant people WOULD judge him. "It makes me uncomfortable." Most people who 'knew' Ben didn't actually know him. They knew of him, they were friendly with him, but if asked to describe him in depth, they would fail. He didn't put a lot of himself out there. Not the stuff that mattered. Sure, he liked sports and working out, but how many people even knew of his love for horses? He didn't talk about it. He didn't talk about his favorite foods, or music, or anything of that sort. He was nice, and that was about all anyone could say about him.
He followed Daniel to the couch, the comment Daniel made making Ben's line of thought all the more appropriate. "I guess I am a little mysterious. Do you...do you feel like you know me?" He asked. Turning so he could face Daniel, one knee pulled up into the sofa in the process. "Or do I seem, I don't know, like a stranger?"
