"There are stores here that sell Brit stuff especially, but it's really expensive. Like Flake. In the UK, Flake cost me, like, 45p. Here it's like two bucks, but tasty," he said with a nod, taking another bite of bannock. You couldn't get chocolate like Flake in the US any other way, and he thought on that for a moment as he chewed and swallowed politely.
"The biggest thing to understand, and I learned this hilariously well my first year in Liverpool, is pants and trousers. I will not tell you all of the unfortunate times I got those two mixed up in the UK. I nearly got slapped. I've never been slapped, but when you make a comment on a lady's pants, you get pretty damn near slapped."
They came up to the part of the large savannah exhibit that belonged to the Panthera leo, as designated by a nearby sign. It was a large, open looking space filled with habitat appropriate trees and rocks. King stopped and looked in through the trees, around the rocks, chewing and trying to not be disappointed.
