"Snacks?" he asked, eyebrows raised, seemingly to rudely ignore everything else she said. He wasn't ignoring her so much as just being extremely focused on one specific thing she said. He did listen, but watched as she pulled out a myriad of treats like he had never seen, nor was likely to see again.
"Oooh, treats," he said, moving his head around to see what of them he could. "What sorts of treats are those?" he asked. "Oh and can you get tablet? I remember tablet. Like pure sugar that stuff, fan-amazing-tastic. I could fuel August for a week on a tray of that. It was like what fudge only wishes it could be."
He watched her treats for a moment longer, and then remembered one of the other things she'd said was about how to play with the lions. Well, since she brought treats, he might as well show her. "I don't play with them up close and personal, of course, they'd be happy to rip the head off anything as aggressively and dominantly male as I am, but more something like this."
King did something that would have looked to any American like a rather silly way to throw a baseball. To anyone who had ever seen a cricket bowler in action, it looked a bit more normal. Only instead of a cricket ball, what left King's hand and flew down the path and then rolled down the path a bit before coming to a stop out ahead of them... was a ball of blue yarn.
He pointed down the path toward it. "Cats love yarn. Can I try one of your snacks?"
