Lenore had managed to keep the burn off her tongue rather quickly - even before getting to the kitchens. Although she has used the last of her milk and her tongue was burning up once more as she made her way to the cafeteria, and promptly threw herself into the kitchen which was quietly abandoned for the time being, seeing as there was no meal currently being cooked or served. She had thrown open the fridge to get some milk, and by the time her dear cousin arrived, Lenore had a milk mustache on her cherry-red face, still feverish from the heat.
"I don't think that's how the poem goes, Usher." While most people would find that an odd nickname, the two were not surprised by it. Madeline was a name taken from the Poe story 'Fall of the House of Usher.' And 'Usher' was just one of the many nicknames from that story Lenore had given Maddie over the years. She wiped sweat off her forehead and glanced at her cousin, taking pickles and sitting on the prep board, which was extremely unsanitary. "You forget, dear cousin, that I still eat from this cafeteria because I can' leave campus like you can. Please remove your butt from where they prepare my meals." Which she promptly laughed at right after, though she did smack Madeline's thigh as she crossed over to put the milk away.
Technically, they weren't supposed to be in the kitchens of the cafeteria. That could get them detention, for sure. But these were the Quinlan girls, and if all they did was drink some milk and take a pickle, well, you were lucky. The two were known for causing a bit of havoc when they got together. "So, I was thinking, for a little revenge, is to remove the labels from a few hot salsa cans and put them on the mild and vice-versa. So others can experience my pain." She said, with a tone that mimic'd something like, oh, the injustice of it all! "Or, we can cause some other mild havoc in the Rec Center or outside it. Up to you. I have had plenty of things running through my head for some innocent fun since Connor and I -- " She hesitated, huffing a little. "Broke up." She finished, her face full of contempt.
