WHO: Honey and Seb WHEN: November 19. After classes. WHERE: Seb's apartment. WHAT: Honey needs to reassure herself that her boyfriend is fine. RATING: Likely low? But I really can't predict my characters anymore. STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
It had been a rough couple of days. Honey wasn't sure why she kept signing up for these missions. First, there had been Siberia. Now, the Amazon. It was too much for her to handle; all this fear, all this worry. She didn't even care that she'd gotten injured the past two times. Her main concern was that the people she cared about were suffering. Every time she closed her eyes, visions of Seb laying on the ground writhing in pain floated across her mind's eye. Honey could still see the sheen of sweat on his features, see the panic in his eyes, and could feel the tightening in her own chest as fear spread icy fingers down her back. She'd woken up this morning in her own sweat, shaking from the dream, and it had taken her several minutes before she'd been able to make herself move; before she'd been able to remind herself that it was over. Seb was okay now.
The worst part of it all was, her powers still weren't working. The headmistress' email did only a little to ease Honey's mind. What if her effects lasted longer? What if they never came back? Honey had wondered time and again throughout her life what it would be like if she didn't have to worry about her powers when she wanted to get close to someone. It had happened with Seb not too long ago, even. But now that she actually faced the possibility, she was scared. She'd never be able to help her friends in missions, or anywhere else, ever again. A big reason things had been so bad during the mission was that Honey's powers had failed her each time she'd tried to do something for her team or her boyfriend. How could she live if that was the way it was going to be from now on?
Not the type to dwell, she shook the depressing thoughts aside, knowing she couldn't wallow. Classes had started again, and she had to go on with life and try to move forward from this very real wake-up call. Honey spent all day thinking about Seb, however, so much so that she practically raced over to his room once class was done for the day. She barely made time to throw her stuff into her room before she was racing out again, speeding past people on the familiar path to her boyfriend's room. It was a bit difficult given her lingering bruising and cuts, but Honey was nothing if not determined. She hoped Aaron didn't mind her hovering around so much, though the thought didn't stop her from knocking on their door once she got there. Hopefully Seb was home, otherwise she was about to look really foolish.
