Looking down at his hands as if he hadn't noticed, Luke gave her a shy smile. She sounded so excited for him and it was odd. "Yeah, I was practicing when you came in... The mission kind of made me realize that I need to be able to use my abilities, not let them use me." He blushed. It was something childish that he should have realized earlier. Most of the mutants at the Syndicate would have looked at him like he was an idiot saying it out loud in such a manner. "I mean... that I can't be useful if I'm incapable of touching anything." Luke nodded, following her to the table and sitting adjacent to her. Green eyes glanced up at her through his eyelashes. He hadn't thought about it, but he wouldn't mind not being afraid of even touching her. Luke never cared that Melody took his hand and that he saw her life through the ages, but to be able to not mentally flinch or worry about those things she wanted hidden from him for some reason. He could even be intimate if he was capable of not getting lost in the memories. Placing his hand out on the table, his fingers moved slowly over the surface. |
