"Pre-heating an oven and mixing is easy. It's remembering that you have something in the oven that's hard." She said with a bit of a smirk. Melody wasn't immune to Luke's general sadness. She did what she could to make him happy - but she hardly ever used her abilities on him unless he asked or if it was necessary. She was fully capable, too, of negating his abilities as well. But she hadn't ever tried to before, because he usually was too busy negating hers. Sometimes she felt bad for that, but mostly she just forgot about it. Melody thought, maybe she should make an effort to negate him more often. Maybe if they went out or did something, so he didn't have to see or think about anyone else.
"Yep! Your guess is correct. Funfetti with the sprinkles and everything." It was kind of a go-to for birthdays and whatnot. They just looked so festive. Melody didn't like chocolate nearly as much as she liked vanilla flavored things, and so it was a good choice for her. She also liked the rainbow colors, though she would never admit that. Just because she was an evil, sadistic little bitch doesn't mean she didn't like unicorns and rainbows. "I tried." She blushed. She hoped it tasted as good as it looked.
With the plates in front of her, she put a two slices of pizza on each. "I'll have water for now, but we should brew coffee so we can act all sophisticated while we eat cupcakes." She snickered. It was a thing, wasn't it? Melody would have liked to know what refined life was like, high class restaurants, whatever. But she had lived in a hospital, then a prison, then a tower for her whole life. Everyone she ever went, she felt locked away. "If you want, anyway." She knew she was being sillier than she normally was, but she felt happy for the first time in weeks. It was a bit intoxicating.
