Helping Alec up would've definitely a bad idea. Lenore would've found herself pinned to the mat again. But she was a fast learner. Alec felt like giving her a cookie. "I think I'll live," Alec said dryly. There was nothing that had the same kind of thrill that fighting did - and taking a punch was part of that. Of course, taking a punch was pretty much all he was doing here. This loud mouth child seemed to really enjoy hitting people and Alec wasn't sure if he was supposed to be alarmed or...no he was definitely sure he was probably supposed to be alarmed. He didn't though. You don't throw stones in a glass house. Or the person without sin should cast the first stone. He was sure there was something about stones there.
Alec didn't have to be familiar with this power to know that something had gone wrong. He could hear Lenore, but it sounded far away, and warped, as if the grinding halt of time was tearing about the sound particles before they reached him. Stopping was a lot easier for him than changing the flow of time. All he had to do was let go of a weight he hadn't realized he was holding. All at once time bounced back to it's normal state. The stillness completely evaporated. It felt a little like breaking the surface of a pond. It was the most jarring thing he'd ever felt.
He blinked at Lenore. She was still yelling stop at him, and it was much louder than before. "What, what?" He shouted back. "I haven't even touched you yet, what?"
