Alec wasn't an awesome student. To put him in charge of actually helping someone with power control was laughable. And Alec had laughed, right up until he was assured that this wasn't excusable. Then he had to sit through that lecture without laughing - about how he should feel good about being given the chance to help another student, and he regretted laughing in the first place. It was better than detention, though. Just an hour, and then he'd be out of this so called responsibility. It was miles ahead of suspension. He'd done those twelve hour, fourteen day suspensions before. This was just an hour.
Alec was tall and lanky, with enough muscle definition. He was wearing a pair of loose jeans and a white t-shirt, an outfit that defined his personality pretty well. He was the bare minimum. He'd already kicked off his shoes. They probably wouldn't need to do this on mats, but whatever. He wasn't a teacher or a tutor or a mentor. He didn't have a plan, and that much became very obvious when he approached Lenore and opened with, "Lenore? Okay, awesome. Punch me. Hard as you want, don't hold back." No sarcasm, no joking. If he was going to help her with her powers, he should have her powers, and if she couldn't use them on him, the only way for this to work was for her to trigger his power, by hurting him first.
