The winds had grown much more frigid over the past week. His sneakers crashed in the puddles along the streets of the harbor district. It was especially dark this evening, with only one or two lights lining the side of the harbor. Tonight it was cloudy, he could barely even see the moon either! Truly wild! Autumn truly was upon us now, dawg! He felt like he was walkin' long the streets of Halloweentown! He was especially lookin' forward to the holiday this year. A place called Eerie Harbor? Come on! That was perfect to celebrate. Plus, it was kinda a relief he didn't hafta stress over all the Mothman costumes, thankfully no one here was too familiar with him.
Catcher made sure to wear a coat this evening, wondering about meeting this Nikola character. She'd seemed to be so welcoming on the network. Her messages were a bit gnarly, but he was sure it was nothin' short of a misunderstanding. Her phone was probably hecka wonky or some. Had the facility run outta phones? Had she dropped it in the can while trying to squeeze one by? Who knew it! Once he got them techy stuff outta the way, he was always down to meet up with a new pal! That was one thing he enjoyed in the Halfway House, getting to meet all the new homies who dropped in from the portals.
I know light can be a major downer sometimes. Catcher leaned against the side of the bar by the alleyway. Maybe she wanted to meet after dark cause it's easier on the ol' eyes? Kind of a gas to think about that maybe there was someone like him running around Eerie. Someone with a similar curse. Maybe he could learn what made his tick?
Catcher's ears perked up as he heard somewhat of a racket from down the nearby alleyway. Catcher left the safety net of Theriot's light to gaze down the alleyway.
"Nikola...?" Catcher took a step into the alley, but not further. "That you, dawg? It's me! Your pal from the funky fresh networks! Kinda dark down there! Come on over here, it's hella light! And the food smells great!"
