So, this one's my latest. And I'm really going to try to stop now. For a few days, at least.

This is River. She's kind of from Brokeback Mountain, in hat Junior makes mention of the new baby to Ennis. So. River (derived from her daddy's name, Monroe, meaning 'mouth of the river') is the daughter of Alma and Monroe. Monroe by no means neglected Junior and Jenny, but River was clearly favored. And Junior is afraid of Ennis, as anyone who saw him only rarely and in stressful family like situatons, would be.

River is in her early 20s. Life is an adventure for her. She wants to experience as fully as she can. Her daddy stressed her reading and writing, and she's writing a book. Hah. Anyway. Yes, this is River. Feel free to poke her intro post!

So, I was doing some thinking and toying and I've got some backstory in why Alma isn't quite as nice to River as Jenny is.

Firstly, since Jenny is closer in age.

Secondly, I kind of pictured Alma gave Monroe a bit of a hard time (nothing really serious, maybe some lip for a while) and when she moved out and got with Kurt and then with Bobby while she was with Kurt, that was kind of a brief little period where they all figured she'd grown up an moved on, but when she had Drew and after she agreed to raise him with Bobby and Kurt started to really beat up on her, she tried to go back home for a while so her Mama could help her out, but Monroe wouldn't let her, not to be mean (and he wouldn't have known Kurt was hitting her) but to try and help her get on her own two feet, or somehting cheesy like that, and she always held a silent little grudge against him, and since he can't get the brunt of that, River will.

She'll get over it and make nice, but she doesn't let Drew call her 'Aunt', she tries to have as little contact with her as possible, she's nice until she feels the need to lash out (especially now).

But. . yeah. That was a tiny bit of plottiness.

	I like it. River also always knew her daddy favored her, why wouldn't he? But I think maybe Alma favored Junior, just the slightest bit. River's also the baby, which probably made her more special and whatnot. (Reply to this) (Parent)
