Lorna was not having an easy time of things. She'd figured out that she was in Africa, but she was thoroughly exhausted. The heat was sapping her energy faster than she'd expected. It meant touching down in a village rather than another oasis, which had been her goal.
There were men with guns there, and general squalor all around her. Lorna didn't quite know what to do. She didn't understand the language, but the guns and the hand motions made it pretty clear that she was in deep trouble if she didn't hand over the only clothing she had.
Normally, she wouldn't have thought twice about laying the men out, but she didn't know if they were there to protect the village or hurt it. Nobody there seemed very sympathetic with her, which she got on an intellectual level, but it only made her even more anxious. She stripped, using her powers as little as possible, hoping that she might be given clothing and something to drink if she gave up her jewelry.
She stood there humiliated for a few long moments, before one of the women came up to her, holding a blanket. She ignored the men as the gabbled at her, thanking the woman with a tired smile. She wrapped the blanket around herself and followed her savior, projecting her powers in the hopes that she would be easier for Alex to find that way.
