Heaved and hefted and gave it all he'd got, every last bit of him, until he felt like he was on fire, burning white hot, incandescent, shoving at the drums, willing them with every fibre of his being to just get the hell out.
There was a roar, deafening, devastating, excruciating, and then -

Silence.
