John leaped over to him and took his arm, "Hey, hey, steady luv, just take it easy, yeah?" He manhandled him over to the pavement kerb. "Here. Sit down before you fall down." He crouched in front of him and looked concerned, head tilted, biting his lip. "Jack? What year is it for you sweetheart?"
He brushed back Jack's hair gently, aware that a hell of a lot of bad juju could have happened to Jack in the time he'd been away. Jack didn't have that young edge to his features anymore. Sweet goddesses he was still handsome, but the boy just out of the Agency was long gone. John felt a sudden pull of loss at the thought.
