Once in Jack’s ship, River tried to figure out the seatbelt system. She felt pretty much everywhere around her, was able to find the straps, but somehow she just couldn’t figure it out. Since Jack was communicating with someone, River hoped he hadn’t noticed her useless trying. She found something to just hang on to and hoped it wasn’t a vital piece of machinery.
She supposed time travel wouldn’t be capable now, as they were just beginning to experiment with it in her time. No, she shouldn’t call it ‘her time,’ she should call it ‘home.’ That sounded better to her. Of course, it had been Magnus Greel who really got the people at home interested in time travel, so she wasn’t a real fan.
“This friend of yours, what’s his name?” she tried to sound casual in asking, but a lot of bad thoughts were going through her mind. If Magnus Greel had travelled to this place, if Jack Harkness was his friend…
