Summary: Nate needs entertaining
Nate sat up and pulled his knees up to near his chest staring at the same walls he had had to look at day after day. He was so bored. He kept having people come in to talk to him but what did he talk about when he didn’t want to discuss how close he had been to death. He didn’t want to have to relive it. Uncle Martin was dead, what he’d nearly done to his sister made his stomach turn. Going through it all again wasn’t fun.
He swung his legs over the side of the bed letting his feet feel the bare wood. He wiggled his toes and smiled. Such a small action was such a big deal. He wasn’t going to do anything stupid, but maybe just head towards the window. He had to get his strength back, he’d lost a little weight and a bit of muscle mass, but if he took it slow, it wouldn’t be so bad would it? Just so he could look out of the window?

Morgan smiled as she helped Nate sit up in bed, shifting some pillows behind him, “You need a shave.” She smiled.
”And a hair cut.” Nate added as he took a deep breath, “I don’t remember sitting up being so tiring.” He smiled softly.

Summary: The detectives go a monster hunting!
Dale stopped on the stairs and turned around to look at Wade who was shouting at him. “Look, I’m here okay?! I’m not going to go back, we’ve chased him here, we need to see this through, he can’t go anywhere but up.” Dale shrugged, he wasn’t supposed to be on the beat yet. But he had spotted Wade chasing someone, or something after it had killed a number of people on the street and he had followed.

Summary: Kael has had to venture in to the streets to buy food, keeping a close eye on Eli.
Kael took a deep breath as he glanced at his pocket watch. He didn’t want to be out late and he didn’t want to go too far. The streets were nearly deserted. There was one stall open, the food wasn’t of good quality and he was charging too much, but what choice did Kael have? “Eli?” He asked panicked for a moment because he couldn’t see him.

Summary: Everyone is sat around with bated breath
Morgan was sat across Theo’s lap, resting her head on to his shoulder. They were sat in the living room a nice warm fire crackling. No one was speaking much. They knew the surgery could go on for hours and at any point there could be complications.
Morgan felt like at any moment she’d wake up and this would all have been some terrible nightmare.

Summary: Dale’s first day back
Dale’s hair wasn’t as long as he usually kept it, but it was growing nicely now. He hadn’t been in a suit for a long time but was glad the fabric wasn’t causing friction on his back. His wounds healing wonderfully from the ointment and balms that Nic had given him.
His first day, he knew, was going to have him drowning in paper work. Frankly they needed as many police officers they could have working and if Dale wasn’t quite ready to be running around after criminals, he could put his mind to use looking over all of the files and going through the huge piles of overlooked paper work.
He sat down at his desk and took a moment to look at his items that had been moved on various occasions of being cleaned through the weeks he had been away. He began to set everything back in to its place.

It had been ten days since Nate had been shot. For six of those days the think tank girls had been working furiously. They had pulled in all of their favours and worked hard to get everything just right.

Summary: Nate is lucid enough to talk and really understand his situation
Morgan walked out of Nate’s room hurrying down the corridor and her own bedroom door was slammed shut.
A few minutes later a servant girl tapped on the bedroom door Abby had been given to stay in. She was getting fairly cold treatment from Nate’s mother, but everyone else in the house was treating her as fairly as they could. “Miss?” The young girl said softly, “Miss, I’ve been told that Master Thomaston is awake, he’s asking for you.”

Summary: Terry idiotically is out on the street when a ‘monster’ attacks
Terry had to work late, no one was out and people were leaving the city and it was hard to make any money! So he’d been working late! Ty wasn’t at the shop when he locked up and he was worried there was something wrong. But he didn’t fancy hanging around. He headed through the streets in the direction Ty would normally take to meet him and he walked as quickly as he could without bringing attention to himself.
It was about half way home when he heard it. A mournful loud cry and he turned around and managed to dodge out of the way just in time to avoid a huge beam of wood flying at him.
He dove to the floor and stared at the thing on the rooftop. A mass of fur and horn.

Summary: The team come to decide how to try and help Nate!
Farah, after a lot of talk and persuasion had managed to get the Thomaston’s to agree to let this group of junk yard girls in to her home and look over Nate. She knew that they were capable of brilliance, but this was her son and she had no idea how capable they were medically.
She was going to make sure she stayed close.

Kael wasn’t really asleep, there were quite a few thoughts running around in his head. He had heard about Nate and wondered if Nova would want his condolences, he figured she had enough people around her, but maybe she could do with a friend or two? He’d send a letter and see if she was up to visitors while Nate was so critical.
He heard his door opened and glanced up but didn’t see anyone, figuring the old door had just worked free of the frame.

Summary: The family meet Abby and are planning Nate’s future
Morgan was looking through a list of all of the surgeons in the city, all of the doctors and hospitals in the city and nearby area. She would find someone willing to operate, willing to take the chance.
She had to keep herself busy otherwise she’d fall completely apart again. She heard a fuss at the door and left her study and walked out in to the hall and spotted Nox with a new arrival.
