Sam rested against Daniel as he held her, her eyes closed. She knew that they had this week, but as to what would happen after that, she had no idea. She planned to fight, though, and fight hard to make sure that Daniel - and Caitlin - could stay. They belonged here. They needed someone like Daniel to translate for them, and the bio-engineering lab was Caitlin's. She had put her mark on it from day one of the expedition. Doctor Grant had never fully stepped into her shoes, and she knew that even he knew that. Everyone knew that.
When she felt Daniel nudge her face, she looked up at him. There was so much love in his eyes, but she also saw the tiredness and pain, so when he asked about somewhere to lie down, she wasn't surprised. He and Caitlin really had consumed a great deal of alcohol, it seemed.
"It's all right," she whispered before kissing him. "I seem to remember someone being understanding when I got sick after we were together on one of our missions because I had to be nice and try the local's cuisine."
Slipping off him, a shudder running through her, she reached down and picked up their clothes, helping him to get dressed. Once they were decent again, she unlocked the door, and together, they headed back down to her quarters.
"Lie down," she told him. "We can go down to the dining hall and get something to eat later when you wake up."
