Daniel sighed a little when Sam and him were called to Operations. He wasn't looking forward to speaking with Landry, especially since he had lied to come through the Gate. Standing, Daniel slipped his shoes on and followed Sam out of her quarters. Luckily, it was still fairly early and not a lot of people were roaming the corridors of the city.
When they got to Sam's office, he stood back and allowed her to speak first. His eyes widened in amazement as she lied for him and Caitlin. He didn't know what to say but when she waved him over, he went to stand by her. And, as she continued to speak, he nodded along with her story.
"Yes it is, Jack," Daniel said as he tucked his hands behind his back. "Like Sam said, we needed to get here quickly to take care of the problem, which is why Doctor O'Neill and I lied to gain access to the Gate."
"And, where's Katie now?" Jack asked.
Daniel glanced at Sam and then back at the screen. "She's probably still sleeping. She did all the work, really. All I did was translate a few things and she took over from there. She was pretty exhausted once she was finished," he said as he looked at Jack, knowing the other man would say something about his daughter.
"Always did tell everyone my kid is good at what she does," Jack said with a proud smile. "I'm satisfied they didn't just run off. Just leave a note next time."
"Of course," Daniel said.
"When can we expect you back?" Landry asked.
Once again, Daniel glanced at Sam. "Um, Caitlin said something about checking things over today to make sure the threat was really gone. I figured I'd stay here and come through the Gate with her," he said, hoping Landry didn't make them come back right away.
