"I won't let you get lost," Sam promised Daniel. She wouldn't either. Even after the mess of their break-up Sam knew she'd never let anything happen to him because she cared about him too much. Loved him too much. And always would.
As they stepped out of the transporter, Sam shook her head at Daniel's reaction to it. He'd always been adorable when experiencing and finding new things, and it was nice to see it still a part of him even when he was absolutely plastered.
Carson, meanwhile, reaching up to cover Cait's hand when she grabbed his arm, looking into her eyes. "A turtle?" he asked with a soft smile before he looked over at Daniel, the smile fading into a look of horror at the thought of turtle soup.
Sam wanted to assure him that given Jack's sense of humor, it was just a joke, but before she could, Daniel was talking about the time when they made that snowman together on one of their days off. While Carson helped Cait take her jacket and hat off, Sam looked at him.
"I remember," she said, seeing the frown appear on his face. Obviously, he was starting to sober up a little. This was going to be far worse later, she was sure. "It's okay. We'll talk about in the morning."
"Come on, love," Carson said, looking at her for a moment before leading Cait toward his door. "Let's get you settled."
While they went inside, Sam took Daniel's hand, and once they were in her quarters, she had him sit down before getting some water for him. "Drink this," she told him. She then sat down beside him and, unable to help it, reached up to brush her hand over his temple.
