Caitlin stared at Carson in confusion as he spoke. At first, she wanted to ask him if she really was pissed in Operations since obviously she didn't remember anything. Then, suddenly, she remembered what pissed meant in "Carson-speak" and became a little less confused. But there was still the matter of why it was a good thing Daniel and her had came there the night before.
Sitting on the couch, Caitlin waited for Carson to join her. Looking at him, she listened as he explained his relationship with Sam and how they were no longer going to get married. She felt her heart skip a beat and her throat tightened. She let out a soft sob and buried her face in her hands.
"I'm sorry," she said in a muffled voice. Swallowing, she looked at him, her vision blurry from the tears in her eyes. "You have no idea how many times I've wanted to hear you say that. I've been so alone without you, Carson. Even when I twisted my ankle last month, I wanted you there with me. I never wanted to leave you."
Moving closer to him, Caitlin buried her face against his shoulder and cried. "I don't know what to do, though," she hiccuped. "I'm still there and you'll still here. All I can think of is hiding out on the mainland with the Athosians or something." She wrapped her arms around him and tangled her fingers in his shirt. "I don't want to leave you again, Carson. I love you too much."
