He stood up when she slipped off the bed, then watched as she turned around and told him why she had broken up with him. Swallowing, he looked down. Part of him wanted to just grab her and kiss her, no matter what had happened, but he knew he couldn't. They needed to talk through this.
"I have to admit, seeing you standing in the Control Room pissed was a damned big shock," he told her. "But you and Daniel coming here...was actually a good thing."
He knew that saying that was probably confusing, so he reached over and took her hand, drawing her back over to the couch to sit down before he went over and started the kettle to make some instant coffee, knowing that she probably needed it. While the water boiled, he went back to sit next to her.
"After we broke up, I tried to put everything aside and just get on with things," he explained. "And when I met Sam, I found someone I liked being with, and things just happened between us. But the entire time, I was ignoring something, and that's the fact that I still love you and always will. Just like Sam still loves Daniel. We just would have continued ignoring it, though, if you two hadn't come through."
He looked down. "So Sam and I aren't getting married. I just don't know what to do now."
