"Got it," Giotto called down after he grabbed the harness. "Okay, I'm going to keep an arm around you but I need you to slip your legs into the two openings here."
He smiled when she mentioned having a race with belayers. "You bet," he said securing the harness. "Just ask anyone in a red shirt to call Mr. Giotto when you're ready." He somehow doubted her parents were going to let her anywhere near the gym again, but he could offer.
"Okay, she's ready," Giotto signaled down to Sulu. "Just hold onto the rope as you go down. Once you're down I'll rappel down after you - that's how climbers usually come down. You can watch if you want, but then we need to find your parents."
It wasn't something he was looking forward to. Parents didn't tend to be overly rationale about their children and the fact that hers had let her disappear on a starship made it an even bet that were going to freak out and/or blame someone else for this little adventure.
