Burnie's turn with Kevin: crazy adult vs bratty kid
Burnie had cut through main engineering on his way to do a little off-duty tinkering only to find a host of torqued off engineers trying to hunt down a runaway kid.
Only on the Enterprise - the whole bizarre situation was like something out of an old Bugs Bunny cartoon. In fact, it had been all he could do to look appropriately appalled at the story of a smart aleck rugrat defying them and then assaulting Scotty before running off and forcing a group of adults to try to chase him down in main engineering (which really was no place for a kid, but objectively speaking was the coolest place ever for catch-me-if-you-can). This brat was a kid after Burnie's own heart.
And on that basis, he had promised to help and gone to retrieve his padd. After a bit of strolling around he heard signs of movement in an access conduit. Smart kid - an adult couldn't move very fast in one of those, but that was fine since Burnie had no intention of chasing him.
He sat down in a corner on the floor just a little to the side of the entrance, like he was hiding too and brought up MegaTron UltraBlasters on his padd. Turning the sound up a wee bit, he started to play. It really was a great game and the sound effects were totally awesome, so after a bit he didn't exactly need to act in order to sound like he was really into it.
"Yes!" he crowed in stage whisper. "Level 51!"
A small noise to his left indicated a potential audience. Burnie glanced over his shoulder trying to look nervous. "Shhh! Don't tell anyone, I'm supposed to be working."
