Heather let out an inelegant snort at the prospect of them being married. Not because they weren't compatible but rather for the child's logic. Married because they sounded alike! Of all the odd associations...
Poor Scotty seemed about as lost as she was about what to do, though. "Hey, stop that now," Heather ordered when he returned to pressing buttons, trying to sound authoritative but completely unlike her own mother. (A near impossible task, really, but she did her best all the same.)
Scotty's bribery probably had a better shot at working, though. Heather shot him an encouraging nod as she made for the console, wanting nothing more than to protect it from his abuse. "Aye, they have loads o' delicious flavors up there, too."
Admittedly, Heather felt a bit badly for whatever adult might have to deal with him after he ingested sugar (unless said adult was the parent obviously not doing his or her duty) but it wouldn't be her and that was the really important thing. So. Best to get him out of there then.
