Giotto fished out another spoon and took his own taste. Yep. It could be a little sweeter. He scooped some of the remaining powdered suger into one hand, considered the volume of filling and sifted roughly half of it into the bowl. Sam smiled a little to himself. It used to drive Maria crazy when he measured things that way, but every recipe he'd ever been taught had been in terms of a 'pinch' or a 'dash'. Eventually you just got a feel for it and trying to convert that feel to measurements that would suit a scientist always lost something in translation.
After adding an extract drop of vanilla, Giotto picked up a small beater. "If you can fry those last few, I'll blend this in and then we can fill them."
