Carson gladly let Caitlin lead him and Rodney from the Gate room. Going home sounded like a very good idea after everything that had happened that day, especially since Rodney was obviously still a bit shaken from what had happened. It had been enough just to pick up the feelings he had experienced. He couldn't imagine seeing someone he loved who had died.
At least Rodney brightened a bit the moment he saw Erin. That was a good sign.
After they had picked up the girls from daycare, they headed to their quarters. Carson passed Charlie to Caitlin so she could feed her before going into the kitchen and getting everyone something to drink. When he came back out, he gave Erin a bottle before giving Rodney his cup and setting Caitlin's glass of juice on the table next to the couch, smiling at both of them.
"I don't know what we'd do without you, Rodney," Carson told him as he sat down next to him and wrapped his arm around his shoulders. "When you went--that was undoubtedly one of the scariest moments in my life earlier in my office."
"I know. I'm sorry," he told him. "I just...the things she--he said..."
"We know."
"Thank you. For stopping me."
"Always." Carson kissed him on his jawline in front of his ear before feeling Erin crawling into their laps. He smiled at her before looking over at Cait and Charlie. Lifting his hand up from Rodney's shoulder, he silently ran his hand through Cait's hair.
