Fred grinned as she watched John and Alex came down the steps. She laughed and scooped Alex up. "I missed you so much, sweetie," she said as she hugged her daughter close to her. "I even got you a present."
"Pressie!" Alex said as she bounced in Fred's arms. Just then, Rodney walked up.
"Hey Meredith," Jeannie quietly said. "Long time no see."
Fred looked at everyone and cleared her throat. "John, this is my friend Tim McGee and his wife Jeannie. Jeannie is Rodney's little sister...something we didn't know until right before we came here. Sam and I already gave her our condolences," she said.
"Nice to meet you," Tim said. He then smiled at Alex. "And it's nice to meet you too, Alex."
Alex giggled and hid her face against her mom's shoulder.
"So you're the one who wrote the bridge theory? You leave the game for four years and suddenly come back?" Rodney asked as he crossed his arms and glared at Tim. "She could've been something great if it hadn't been for you!"
"Mere! Knock it off!" Jeannie scolded.
Sam cleared her throat and looked at all of them. "Fred and I checked over the math and it checks out. If you want to look at it too, Rodney, then go ahead," she said.
Fred shrugged her shoulders, figuring they would figure things out for themselves. She turned and leaned up to deeply kiss her husband for several moments. I missed you so much. I didn't sleep at all last night. I'm never leaving again!
Breaking the kiss, she smiled at him before shifting Alex in her arms. "I need to go down to medical and give Carson this," she said as she pulled the cover off the glass container Lucy was in. "Her name is Lucy."
