John followed the others down to the room with the machine Rodney had found, staying back and out of the way. There was nothing that he could really add to this, but he wanted to be there in case something went wrong. Not that he didn't trust Rodney. It was just that he didn't trust the thing that was inside Weir. After what he had seen in the other universe, he didn't trust this not to be some sort of trick.
Once they had everything set up and had removed Weir from the pod, the machine lit up and started to do...whatever it was doing. John looked over at Sam, agreeing with her. Soon the room was filled with a high-pitched sound like that that the other universe's Weir had made before - the alien inside was apparently aware of what was going on calling out for help.
"Can you stop that?" John asked.
Rodney shook his head. "I can't. I don't think there's any way to put it under."
Elizabeth's eyes suddenly opened wide as her body arched up under the machine. A moment later, a bright light seemed to be pulled out of her body into a glass holder connected to the machine. The light moved and shifted like it was trying to break out for a moment before it suddenly dimmed and slowed. Then it sparked out completely, leaving nothing but black smoke behind.
"It's out of her," Carson said. "Elizabeth. Elizabeth, can you hear me?"
She groaned softly, her eyes blinking several times in succession before looking at all of them. Her mouth opened, but before she could say anything, her eyes closed again, and she went limp on the table.
"Is she...?" John asked, swallowing hard.
Carson shook his head. "Unconscious. We should get her back to medical."
