Sam had heard from Chuck that the people from the jumper went straight to medical with some sort pod. She walked down there and walked in just in time to see what was going on. "That's the Weir from the other universe?" she asked, even though she knew what the answer was.
"Aye," Carson said. "And from my scans, it looks like the parasite inside of her is dying too. I don't see either of them surviving for more than a week."
Rodney suddenly started to bounce in place and snapped his fingers. "The machine I found! We could use it to take the parasite out of her!" he exclaimed. "It'd be the perfect chance to see if it works."
Sam crossed her arms and looked from Weir to Rodney. "Will she survive?" she asked.
"She's as good as dead if we don't do anything. I think it's worth a shot," Carson said as he looked at the others.
"All right. You're on your own, Rodney. Fred isn't here - she went to the mainland with Laura and Jennifer," Sam said. "Think you can handle it without her checking your math."
Rodney rolled his eyes. "Yes," he muttered.
"Then lets do it," Sam said.
Carson got together a crash cart in case something happened, and then helped them push the pod down to the room Rodney had found. Once they were inside of it, Rodney and Zalenka set about get the machine ready. While they were doing that, Carson placed some monitors on Weir's body. After Rodney and Zalenka was finished, they placed Weir on the table under the machine and then Rodney turned it on.
"Hope this works," Sam said as the machine started to scan Weir's body.
