"All right, next stop Atlantis," John said as they reached M-304 and headed down into the atmosphere toward the Gate. Teyla used the jumper dialer to open the wormhole home, and while John maneuvered down to thread the needle, he heard Rodney speaking to Carson and Zalenka.
Soon, they were back in Atlantis. While Rodney helped Carson and Zalenka with the pod, John reached out to Fred as he followed along behind them. Even though her presence was always there even when they were a great distance apart, proximity made it stronger. Hon, we're back. We found something in orbit around Lantea that we brought back, so I'll be in medical with the others.
He sent her a mental kiss before turning his attention to what was going on once they arrived in medical. The moment the pod lit up, his brow furrowed at Carson's words. Had he just said...?
Moving forward, he looked into the pod, which had became translucent thanks to the light. Sure enough, there inside was Elizabeth Weir, her eyes closed and skin pale like a ghost. As he looked at her, he realized who this had to be, given what she was wearing.
"That's the Elizabeth from the universe we were trapped in," he said.
Zalenka looked up from his own scanner. "Are you sure?"
John nodded before looking at Rodney and Carson. "Pretty damn sure."
"Do a deeper scan," Rodney said. "Brain waves, that sort of thing."
Carson nodded and adjusted the scanner. "There's a strange bio-electrical energy inside her. It must be that alien parasite. She's barely alive and by all right should be dead given how long it looks like she's been out there. The alien must be keeping her going."
