John looked over at Rodney when he worried about whether he'd be remembered for what he had done. "You want another statue erected to you?" he asked with a snort.
"Some sort of recognition would be nice, yes."
"Well, there's a whole lot of people who have been here who would deserve that recognition too," he pointed out. "Starting with Doctor Weir."
Before Rodney could respond, Fred was said something about alien parasites, and he made a lunge for the tablet she was holding. John immediately wrapped his arms around his wife when she pressed against him, wondering what was going on. What alien parasites? What had she found? He looked at her as Rodney explained to Sam that they had been trying to work out what the room he had found was for.
"So you're saying that it's for removing alien parasites?" John said. "Like the Goa'uld?"
Rodney made another grab for the tablet and snagged it this time, looking at it. "Actually, not quite. The Goa'uld stay partly separate from the host - this allows them to jump bodies if the need arises and for the host to take over on occasion. It looks like this is for parasites that completely merge with the host - where there's no secondary body to take out." He looked at Fred. "At least I think that's what you've found?"
